By all accounts, the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was a total bust. Not only was it over-hyped, but everyone who spent the money to get the Pay-Per-View was left absolutely ripped off. This applied to both longtime and casual boxing fans. It’s sad to say, but the sport of boxing definitely took several steps back in its unrelenting effort to become “mainstream” again.
There are some good news however. All is not lost yet. That’s because on Saturday, November 21st, everything you actually wanted to see in the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will happen. Two brawlers by the names of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Miguel Cotto will be going to war.
The best thing about this fight? Neither fighter is a defensive fighter like Floyd Mayweather. Both are absolute brawlers. This means no running around the ring and no hugs for the opponent every three seconds. It means that these guys will be going toe to toe, chin down, hands up, fists flying at each other.
Both fighters, Canelo and Cotto, have fought Floyd Mayweather and lost. But the interesting fact about that is that even though Canelo Alvarez is the slight favorite to win, Cotto actually gave Mayweather his toughest test of the last few years.
:More good news? Both fighters are power punchers, and I will be severely and unpleasantly surprised if there isn’t at least a knockdown during the fight. Just watch this and tell me you’re not impressed, especially after you see the knockout Canelo scored against Baldomir!
Trust me, splash out the money for this Pay-Per-View. I guarantee, you won’t be disappointed.
