ESPN’s Curt Schilling Fired After Sharing Meme

On Wednesday night, ESPN announced that it had fired baseball analyst Curt Schilling…because he shared a meme.  Really.

Schilling has become somewhat of an Internet legend for his willingness to engage with trolls on Facebook and post some really stupid things, but this one post was apparently enough for the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

Schilling has had previous disputes with his sports conglomerate employer over the same issues, but it looks ol’ Curt was dead set on changing the world through sharing memes, even if it cost him his lucrative job.

Without further ado, here is the meme that cost Curt Schilling millions of dollars.

ESPN released the following statement after the incident:

“ESPN is an inclusive company. Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”

This isn’t the first time Curt has been in hot water over over his postings.  In August of this year, he posted another meme comparing Muslims to Nazis.  Unbelievably, this somehow didn’t get him fired.

What do you think?
